(Sukuk.net) brazil's state-run oil company Petrobras announced in a statement that it broke its monthly domestic production record in August, AP reported.

Petroleo brasileiro SA says it produced 1,885,196 barrels per day last month domestically. That is a 4.3 percent jump from August 2007, and a 1 percent increase over July of this year. The previous monthly record of 1,867,336 barrels a day was from June.

The company said in the statement that total production in August, including international fields, was 2,442,444 barrels of oil equivalent.
