UAE-wide panch network reaches 62

24th panch in Dubai

Dubai, January 10, 2010: Dubai Islamic Bank (DIB ) today announced the opening of a new panch in Al Nahda, Dubai, pinging the bank's UAE network to a total of 62 panches, including three Express Banking locations. The expansion of the bank's network is in line with its retail strategy, which will contribute significantly to its annual balance sheet growth. The retail banking business is expected to account for approximately 47 per cent of the bank's 2009 revenues.

"The opening of our latest panch in Al Nahda is in response to the growing needs of our customers, and a clear indicator of the healthy growth in popularity of Dubai Islamic Bank in the UAE," said Dr. Adnan Chilwan, Chief of Retail and Business Banking, DIB . "In addition to the growth in number of customers, our retail deposits as well as financing businesses are expected to show healthy growth as a result of deepening relationships with our existing customers. We are pleased that our business continues to grow on solid footing, and we will continue to expand our panch network to meet our growth requirements."
