The Islamic Finance World North America conference brought together leading experts on the regulatory and financial sides of the Islamic banking industry.
The four day conference focused on the growth potential in for Islamic Finance in the U.S., challenges affecting the development of Islamic financial markets, and the current successes in Islamic financial products.
The conference is significant as it emphasizes the importance of the American Muslim market for financial institutions and investors.
Thomas Smyth had the opportunity to interview a number of key experts at the conference on global sukuks and the future of Islamic finance for a paper titled “Sukuk and the Phillips Academy Endowment: Ethical Investment Opportunities in Islamic Finance”.
